A conceptual art piece which focuses on a wish that society's concepts of justice and of value were differently conceived.
Our value judgements and potential understanding are currently constantly corrupted by ’state–aligned and supported’ ‘news’ outlets, polluted with a centuries old bias which endorses the idea of European, Western and latterly American superiority and so rightful privilege.

A conceptual art piece expressing a belief that the collective West is unable to see other, particularly non-Western, cultures in a factual, reasoned or empathetic way.

Concept 3 : DP24
'misjustice'. This conceptual art piece proposes that we need a new word in the English language, that expresses the deliberate imposition of 'wrong' or 'bad' ( the meanings of the prefix mis-) justice, through the intentional framing and subsequent interpretation of laws or 'rules' aimed at oppressing 'others'. These laws or rules are then claimed as the legal basis for the actions of the State or Authority, which inflict suffering on, or discriminate against, 'others'.

Conceptual Art's roots go back to the early part of the twentieth century. Marcel Duchamp is often referenced as the father of Conceptual Art. He created 'Fountain' in 1917, using an actual porcelain urinal, which he declared to be a work of art. The movement blossomed during the 1960s and remains a powerful vehicle for artistic expression.
For me, Conceptual Art is art where the idea (or concept) on which the work is based is more important than the finished art object. This type of art depends on non-traditional means of art production and materials. Its primary purpose is to convey the concept behind the work, rather than to produce 'pretty' or conventional art. It usually engages with difficult cultural and political realities. Without a doubt, it should provoke thought.
